THE SPEED GRAPHIC CAMERA During WWII, Army Photographers, which were part of the Signal Corps, were often issued the Speed Graphic 4x5 Camera for recording U.S. Army events. The Speed Graphic was also used by news organizations and professional photographers all over the world. I have always wanted one and I finally found one online. The r really cool thing about this one is that it comes with a bunch of accessories. It is without a doubt the ultimate find for my living history display. This one is actually dated 1950, but is essentially identical to ones used during the war. |
ETSY is a dangerous place. It is amazing some of the things that you can find there, including... to my amazement... pocket stuffers for WWII Reenactors. These are three sets of pocket stuffers that I picked up from a vendor out of France. There are a couple of items that I already have, but I was really excited to find that someone was making period correct envelopes and writing paper. Seemed like a natural for my living history display.

Finally, I found these two items on ETSY as well. The first is a set of four French Michelin Road Maps from the 1930's. The second was an actual Michelin Guide to France... in French. It is dated 1957, but I am thinking that I might be able to do a little doctoring and make it difficult to tell whether it is 57 or 37. We'll see. In any case, both will be really nice items for my Willys Jeep.
